Dr. Ali Ahmad Sheikh is serving Pakistan Biological Safety Association (PBSA) as General Secretary. He is working as Assistant Professor in Internationally Accredited University Diagnostic Laboratory (UDL), University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore. He holds DVM degree and is Ph.D in the discipline of Microbiology. His area of research interest is to diagnose various infectious diseases which are prevailing in Pakistan and ultimately developing control strategies using biosafety and biosecurity measures to prevent their trans-boundary transmission. In 2013 he joined Pakistan Biological Safety Association as lifetime member and served as assistant election commissioner of PBSA elections 2013 – 2015. He is actively involved in organizing Biosafety trainings as resource person on the platform of PBSA. He is also qualified technical assessor for ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and ISO/IEC 15189:2007 by Pakistan National Accreditation Council, Islamabad and Emirates National Accreditation System (ENAS). He is also serving as resource person in various trainings conducted in the area of Microbiology.
